Folic acid prevents neural tube defects : New study

A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows that the intake of food fortified with folic acid has decreased cases of neural tube defects by 46% since 1998, when the Canadian government issued a rule that obliged all manufacturers of cereal products to fortify their products with folic acid.
