Appointment of Dr. Tanya Di Genova to the position of Associate Director of Professional Services of the Montreal Children’s Hospital

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Tanya Di Genova as the next Associate Director of Professional Services at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Presently serving as the Medical Director of Patient Flow, the Site Chair of the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists, and the Associate Chair of Clinical Mission of the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Di Genova’s robust academic background, fervent passion, and extensive administrative experience render her an exemplary candidate for this role.

Dr. Di Genova holds the position of Associate Professor of Pediatrics and is a vital member of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. She completed her pediatric critical care physician training at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and Toronto Sick Kids, joining the Children’s Hospital staff in 2017. Following her clinical training, she pursued a master’s in business administration at McGill University and obtained a certificate from the Centre of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the University of Toronto. As the inaugural Medical Director of Patient Flow at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, she spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing work efficiency, cost effectiveness, resource utilization, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the hospital and the broader critical care community. Her leadership was particularly pivotal during the pandemic when she directed the development of a comprehensive hospital-wide contingency plan.

In addition to her administrative and clinical duties, Dr. Di Genova is deeply committed to education. She has served as co-program director for the Pediatric Critical Care Residency Program, the inaugural medical director of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Program, and, more recently, as a course developer and instructor for the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management (GCHM).

In her new role, Dr. Di Genova aims to fortify clinical teams, cultivate partnerships with the community, and champion innovation. Together with her associate directors of nursing, multidisciplinary services, and support programs, she is dedicated to empowering her team and elevating the Montreal Children’s Hospital to new heights.
